Nigeria’s Junior D’Tigress have suffered a disappointing group-stage exit at the FIBA U18 Women’s Afrobasket after losing all three of their group matches, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The result marks only the second time in the history of the competition that Nigeria have failed to win a single group game, with the first occurrence coming in 2010.

The Junior D’Tigress began their campaign with a heavy 95–68 defeat to Egypt before suffering a 59–50 loss to Chad.

They concluded their group-stage campaign with another defeat, falling 77–68 to Côte d’Ivoire. Nigeria’s results in the group stage: Egypt 95–68 Nigeria, Chad 59–50 Nigeria, Nigeria 68–77 Côte d’Ivoire.

The three defeats mean the Junior D’Tigress will not advance to the quarter-finals. Nigeria will instead compete in the 9th–12th classification games on Wednesday as they look to finish their campaign on a positive note.
