Nigeria’s Junior D’Tigers were forced to play their U18 Afrobasket Championship game against Chad with just nine players available, as their difficult campaign at the tournament continued, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian team suffered another defeat against Chad after being severely depleted by mandatory MRI screening requirements.

Five players reportedly failed the mandatory MRI scan, leaving Nigeria with only seven players available for their opening game against Egypt, which also ended in defeat.

Although the number increased to nine for the encounter against Chad, the Junior D’Tigers were still short of their full squad and struggled with limited options throughout the game.

It remains uncertain whether the three remaining players will be cleared and become available for Nigeria’s final group-stage match.

The Junior D’Tigers will be hoping for improved player availability as they look to finish their group campaign on a positive note.
