Nigeria and Samoa were both awarded one point each after their opening Group C match at the ICC U-19 Women's T20 World Cup was abandoned due to rain, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The game, scheduled for Borneo Cricket Ground in Sarawak, Malaysia, was called off without a toss taking place.

Nigeria will face New Zealand in their second match on Monday, January 20, at the same venue.

They will conclude their Group C campaign against South Africa on Wednesday, January 22.
