U20 AFCON: "We Are Ready For Nigeria" - Uganda Captain

Ahead of the quarter-final game slated for Thursday, the captain of Uganda, Isma Mugulusi, has confirmed their readiness for the game against Nigeria, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Hippos will face the Flying Eagles of Nigeria for a place in the semi-final and the 2023 U20 FIFA World Cup as all semi-finalists in the CAF U20 African Nations Cup automatically qualify for the World Cup..

Mugulusi during a press conference said they are fired up for the game.

"We are ready, everyone is in shape, and we're mentally good. We've tried to put what the coach wants into practice. I think we can overcome Nigeria in the quarter-finals.

"We are told and we have been assisted by the coaches and other players who visited our camps like former Cranes goalkeeper and captain Dennis Onyango and former Hippos captain Gavin Kizito to eat the grass so I think tomorrow we will eat the grass.

"In this team, everyone is a captain. It's not only me so it's not something big though I am the one who wears the armband everyone is a leader in our team", he told CAF media.
