U20 AFCON: CAF Drops Alexandria Stadium From Hosting Matches

Following the massive complaints of the teams in group C, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has dropped Alexandria stadium from hosting further matches in the ongoing 2023 African Cup of Nations, BSNSports.com.ng has gathered.

The Football body announced the decision after teams in the group complained about the playing surface of the stadium.

Instead, CAF has moved the remaining games to Haras El Hodoud Stadium.

"Following deliberations and concerns regarding the condition of the playing surface, the organizing committee and the local organizing committee have decided to move the remaining matches from the Alexandria stadium to the Haras El Hodoud stadium, located nearby, also in Alexandria", CAF said.

Haras El Hodoud stadium will host its first matches for the second day of group C, this Friday, which will see Benin face Tunisia as well as Gambia opposing Zambia
