U20 AFCON: CAF Name Nigerian As Assistant Ref In Match Official List

Barely 24 hours before the start of the 2023 U20 African Cup of Nations in Egypt, the African soccer ruling body has released the list of the match officials for the competition, BSNSports.com.ng report.

After being absent from many competitions in the past, Nigerian match officials finally staged a return as CAF picked Peter Igho as one of the assistant referees.

The list includes 16 referees, 18 assistant referees and six video assistant referees.

The CAF Referees Department has also integrated referees selected for FIFA World Events - to use the competition as a preparatory step before their assignments.

The list includes two female referees: Akhona Makalina from South Africa and Bouchra Karboubi from Morocco, as well as assistant referees Jermoumi Fatiha and Hamdi Soukaina from Morocco, Fanta Idrissa Kone from Mali and Yara Atef from Egypt.
