As preparations intensify for the upcoming U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast, the Egyptian U20 team is set to hold a training camp in Qatar, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Drawn into Group B, Egypt will compete against Morocco, South Africa, and Nigeria’s Flying Eagles in the tournament.

The 32-man squad was initially assembled in Egypt but will head to Qatar next week for a series of friendly matches.

Their campaign begins with a game against the host nation on March 19, followed by fixtures against the United Arab Emirates on March 22 and Croatia on March 26.

Scheduled to run from April 26 to May 18, the U20 AFCON also serves as a qualifier for the FIFA U20 World Cup.

The top four teams will secure a spot in the tournament, set to take place in Chile from September 27 to October 19.
