U20 AFCON: Flying Eagles Edge Uganda, Qualify For World Cup

Nigeria's Flying Eagles under Ladan Bosso qualified for the 2023 FIFA World Cup on Thursday evening with a victory over Uganda, BSNSports.com.ng report.

They played at the Suez stadium in Cairo and witnessed fireworks from both teams trying to seize control of the game.

The Hippos of Uganda almost scored from a corner kick in the first half Nigeria's goalkeeper Chinedu Anigboso lived up to expectations to save the ball.

The Nigeria side finally took the lead before the end of the first half through an own goal from the Uganda defender Juma.

The Uganda improved in the second half but they were unable to break down the backline of the Flying Eagles.

Nigeria joined Senegal in the Semi Final of the competition and also secured its place in the FIFA U20 World Cup slated to hold in Indonesia in May.
