Sampson Adedeji

African soccer ruling body has confirmed that scouts of foreign clubs and international football agents are set to arrive in Egypt for the forthcoming U20 African Cup of Nations, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Twelve teams are participating in this 23rd edition: Egypt, Senegal, Nigeria, Mozambique, Uganda, Central African Republic, South Sudan, Congo, Gambia, Tunisia, Benin and Zambia.

According to CAF, the tournament continues to attract interest from scouts and technical experts from different clubs, who will be present at all three venues.

"The interest from scouts and the international public is truly incredible,” commented CAF Secretary General Veron Mosengo-Omba.

â€œBut that should come as no surprise to us and the CAF administration, as we know that African football is on the rise.

"The talent is here, in Africa, and the U20 Africa Cup of Nations is a perfect platform to showcase that talent.

"We do our best to respond to requests from scouts", he added.

Teams that reach the semi-finals will automatically qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup scheduled to hold in Indonesia from May 20 to June 11, 2023.
