U20 AFCON: New Host Emerges After Ivory Coast Withdrawal

Ivory Coast has officially withdrawn from hosting the U20 African Cup of Nations, prompting the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to seek an alternative host, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The West African nation was initially awarded the rights to stage the tournament in December 2024. 

However, on Wednesday, the Ivorian government announced its decision to step down as the host.

In response, CAF has approached Egypt as a potential replacement to host the biennial competition. Discussions are still ongoing, and an official announcement regarding the new host is expected before the end of the week.
