U20 AFCON: Nigeria Zambia Double Header Friendly To Hold 3rd, 6th February

Nigeria's Flying Eagles pre-AFCON U20 friendly matches against the Junior Chipolopolo of Zambia will now hold 3rd and 6th of February in Abuja, as against the initial January 27th and 30th dates, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) and its Zambian FA counterpart had rubber-stamped the tune-up games, which is geared towards preparing both teams for the AFCON U20 that will kick off in Egypt from February 19th to March 11th.

The two-legged friendlies will hold at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

Interestingly both the Flying Eagles and Junior Chipolopolo qualified for the U20 AFCON after lifting the 2022 WAFU B and COSAFA U20 Cup titles respectively.

The match will hold after the Nigeria Football Federation has released the 25-man list for the Egypt trip where another four players would be dropped for the final 21-man list.

The Zambian travelling party are now expected to arrive in Abuja 1st of February from Lusaka.

Meanwhile, Coach Ladan Boss's Flying Eagles are in Group A with host Egypt, Mozambique and Senegal, and will play their matches in Cairo.

Zambia on its part is in Group C where they will play Gambia, Tunisia and Benin in Alexandria.

The semifinalist in Egypt will all qualify for the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup in Indonesia from May 20th to June 11th.
