Nigeria's Flying Eagles have joined Ivory Coast as the teams that have booked their place in the Semi-final of the ongoing U20 West African Football Union tournament going in Niger, BSNsports.com.ng can report

The seven-time African champions put one foot in the next round of the competition after they defeated the Black Satellites of Ghana 2-0 in the opening group game

Flying Eagles faced Burkina Faso in the second group match on Tuesday and it ended in a 2-2 draw.

The keenly contested encounter witnessed fireworks from both teams right from the blast of the whistle and it was Ibrahim Muhammad that put Nigeria ahead in the 24th minute.

The Bukinababes levelled the game in the 55th minute from the penalty spot while Ibrahim Yahaya once again put Nigeria ahead in the 73rd minute also from the spot.

The Flying Eagles failed to clear their lines in the 88th minute and Burkina Faso restored parity and their efforts of both teams to score the winning goal proved abortive.

The result means that Nigeria's Flying Eagles have booked their place in the last four of the tournament.
