Malawi’s Under-20 women’s national team has unveiled a 29-player squad as they prepare for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup final preliminary round qualifiers against Nigeria, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Head coach Maggie Chombo has retained 21 players who featured in the third-round qualifiers against Guinea-Bissau earlier this year, emphasizing continuity in the squad.
The Young Scorchers will travel to Nigeria for the first leg on 2 May 2026, before hosting the return fixture at Bingu National Stadium on 9 May 2026.
The aggregate winner will earn a spot at the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, scheduled in Poland from 27 August to 26 September.
Malawi is set to commence preparations on Monday, 13 April 2026, at a training camp in Mpira Village, Blantyre.
