U20 World Cup: Brazil Beat Flying Eagles To Top Group D

By Sampson Adedeji

It was a bad outing for Nigeria's Flying Eagles at La Plata on Saturday evening as they lost to Brazil 0-2, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian side were topping the group table before the last group game needing just only a draw to remain in the position but it was never meant to be as they surrendered it to the superior power of the South American champions.

The Brazilian scored twice in 3 minutes through Jaoa Pedroso and Marquinhos to seal the game in the 42nd and 45th minutes.

Flying Eagles fought hard in the second half and hit bar midway into the half but they were unable to break down the well-organised Brazilian defence.

The result means Flying Eagles will go through as one of the best losers after Italy defeated the Dominican Republic 3-0 to finish second and pushed them to 3rd position.
