U20WW/Cup: We Are Close To Our Goal - Falconets Coach Sampson Adedeji

Ahead of the kick-off of the 2024 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup, the coach of Nigeria's Falconets Christopher Danjuma remains optimistic about the team's chances in Colombia, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

While speaking to FIFA media, Danjuma made it clear that the team is close to their dream. Falconets of Nigeria is one of the teams that have played in every competition since its inception. They were in the final twice in 2011 and 2015 and several top players have been discovered including Asisat Oshoala, Desire Oparanozie etc. Danjuma said, it's time for Africa to win the competition. "I think we're closing in on our goal. As Africans, we have a spiritual perspective. "We are confident that now is the right time to emulate the opportunities and events of 2010 and 2014. "I am certain Africa will stand at the top of the world for the first time", he said. Nigeria is placed in the same group alongside 3-time champions Germany, Venezuela, and the Korean Republic.
