Norway U20 head coach, Bjorn Johansen, has admitted that his side faced a very tough challenge against the Flying Eagles of Nigeria in their opening group game at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Scandinavians secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Nigeria in what turned out to be a fiercely contested encounter, with both sides creating several chances.

“Winning is very important, getting the three points. Every game is going to be fought until the end,” Johansen said after the game.

“Now we’ll play what feels like a final against Saudi Arabia. But three points in our debut, in a World Cup, is very important. We still have to improve our game, but the structure is good, and Nigeria is a very tough opponent.”

Norway will now look to build on their opening win as the group stage continues.
