U23 AFCON: CAF Disqualifies Gabon, Reinstates Cameroon

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the disqualification of the Gabonese U23 team from playing in the upcoming African Cup of Nations due to player age falsification, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Junior Panthers defeated the U23 Indomitable Lions in the final round of the qualifier and qualified for the competition.

The Federation of Cameroon Football (FECAFOOT) protested the age of Floriss Djave, it was alleged that the player was carrying passports of different ages.

The football body on Wednesday deliberated on the matter and decided to disqualify Gabon from the competition.
