U23 AFCON: CAS Throw Out Cameroon's Appeal, Reinstate Gabon

The hope of Cameroon taking part in this year's U23 African Cup of Nations has finally been dashed after the Court of Arbitration for Sports ruled in favour of Gabon, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Cameroon lost out to Gabon in the final round of the qualifier but had protested CAF on Gabon using a player called Gave for double personality.

CAF initially ruled in favour of Cameroon but Gabon approached the appeal and got their ticket back

Cameroon protested to CAS and the sports body on Tuesday finally ruled in favour of Gabon and dumped Cameroon out of the competition.

The tournament is scheduled to start in Morocco next week with 4 semi-finalists representing the continent in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
