U23 AFCON: Egypt Secure First Win

CAF U23 African Nations Cup defending champions Egypt secured their first win at the ongoing 2023 U23 African Cup of Nations in Morocco with a 1-0 win over Mali, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Pharaohs win the encounter that featured a face-off between two tactically well-organized teams in Tangier in Group B of the tournament.

The Egyptians, displaying a more aggressive and attacking style of play, seized control in the 10th minute thanks to Ibrahim Mohamed Adel.

Adel netted the only goal of the game just before the break.

The Malians took over the game in the second half but they were unable to break down the well-organised Egyptian backline.

With the win, Egypt is poised to secure the semi final ticket and a qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games
