Ahead of the final qualifying round against Nigeria's Olympic Eagles, head coach of Guinea's U23 Morlaye Cisse has revealed the reason he did not invite foreign-based players for the game, BSNSports.com.ng has gathered.

The Junior Syli National commenced the second phase of their preparations last week with 21 players invited from the local league.

The team laboured hard on Friday before they could defeat SOAR Academy alone and the coach after the game explained why no foreign players were in the team.

" We have 21 players who are here and it only concerns local players.

The objective is to have a solid base from Conakry with a team of 22 even 25 or 30 players and at any time we can rely on these players.

Since there is always a last-minute disappointment from foreign-based players and we have to avoid being surprised at the last minute by foreign players.

So we have to make each position doubled or triple so we can have many choices", he told Africsport.
