The hope of Nigeria's Olympic Eagles to play in the upcoming U23 African Cup of Nations has ended, BSNSports.com.ng reports

The 1996 gold medalist faced the Junior Syli National in the second leg of the qualifier and it ended in a 2-0 defeat.

Guinea which had secured a favourable goalless draw in the first leg dominated the game from the blast of the whistle and they were able to peg the Nigerian side.

The first half ended goalless but it was the host that was looking likely to score despite playing in Rabat, Morocco.

Algassime Bah netted the opening goal in the 62nd minute before Alseny Soumah made it 2-0 from the direct free kick.

All the efforts of the Olympic Eagles to rescue the situation proved abortive as Guinea went through on 2-0 aggregate.
