U23 AFCON: Sunusi Ibrahim Arrival To Boost Olympic Eagles Attack

2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) joint highest scorer, Sunusi Ibrahim arrival in Ibadan, the camp of the Nigeria U23 team has been labelled as booster for the team's attack.

Sunusi is expected to arrive in Ibadan on Thursday ahead of the second leg of the 2023 U23 African Nations Cup qualifier against Tanzania.

Head coach of the team, Salisu Yusuf had lamented how missed goal scoring opportunities denied them of maximum three points.

Tanzania forced Nigeria to a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Dar es Sallam last weekend while the second leg comes up this weekend at the Lekan Salami stadium Ibadan.

The forward who plys his trade in the US Major Soccer League is expected to boost the attack of the Salisu Yusuf led team.

He missed the first leg 1-1 draw at Benjamin Mpaka Stadium due to club engagements.

The former highest goal scorer of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) will touch down at Abuja by 7pm on Wednesday, and then fly to Ibadan by Thursday morning ahead of the second leg match against Tanzania U23 team.

The Dream Team VIII will host Tanzania next weekend in the reverse fixture at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.

The winner on aggregate will proceed to the next round of the Africa U23 Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.

The Africa U23 Cup of Nations to be held in Morocco in November 2023, will determine Africa’s flag bearers at the Men’s Football Tournament of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
