U23 AFCON Qualifier: Guinea Likely To Host Olympic Eagles At Neutral Venue

According to the report coming from Guinea, the Junior Syli National are likely to play Nigeria's Olympic Eagles away from Conakry, BSNSports.com.ng report.

Guinea was drawn bye in the first qualifying round after their opponent Uganda withdrew due to financial reasons.

Guinea qualified to face Nigeria in the final round of the qualifier and will host the return leg.

To date, Guinea has no approved stadium and they are among the countries that got a special notice from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) ahead of their national team matches.

"If you anticipate that your national association does not have a stadium approved by CAF, you may submit to the African Football Confederation no later than February 7, 2023, the name of the stadium outside your territory to host your match, as well as a letter of agreement from the host country where the stadium is located", CAF statement said.

CAF inspection delegation visited General Lansana Conté Stadium in Nongo, on Monday and the federation is still hoping for approval.
