U23 AFCON Qualifier: I Take Full Responsibility For Senegal Ouster - Demba
Sampson Adedeji
The head coach of the Senegalese U23 team Demba Mbaye has taken full responsibility for the ouster of his team from the U23 African Cup of Nations slated for Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng report.
Senegal is among the big teams that crashed out of the competition like Nigeria, Cameroon and South Africa.
Senegal had a big chance of going through after winning the first leg 3-1 in Dakar but lost 3-0 to Mali in the second leg, which means they crashed out 4-3 on aggregate.
While speaking on the game, Mbaye admitted they failed to turn up for the game.
“The opponent pressed us in all areas, the players couldn't handle the emotional aspect of the event.
I have a good share of responsibility because it was I who made the choices.
We were not present in the duel, nor in the concentration, â€he said.
