U23 Eagles Sneak Into Nigeria

The Nigeria U23 Eagles team touched down at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos in the early hour of Friday, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The team via Air Maroc left Morocco Thursday night and arrived Lagos before boarding a local flight to Abuja.

The 2015 U23 African Nations Cup champions shockingly failed to pick the 2023 CAF U23 African Nations Cup after a 0-2 aggregate loss to Guinea. Guinea who picked the ticket at the expense of Nigeria held the Olympic to a 0-0 draw at the Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja before 2-0 advantage in the return leg in Casablanca, Morocco on Tuesday.

Following their unimpressive outing, the team returned back to Nigeria quietly without many Nigerians willing to know about their traveling schedules.

The foreign based players who joined the team have started traveling to their different destinations to feature for this weekend league actions for their respective clubs.

CAF U23 AFCON hosts, Morocco, defending champions, Egypt, Gabon, Niger, Ghana, Guinea, Mali, and Congo are the eight teams that will slug it out for the 2024 Olympic.

The top 3 teams of this edition of the tournament will qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympic men's football tournament in Paris while the 4th-placed team will play the AFC–CAF playoffs to decide the final slot at the Olympics.
