UCL: Osimhen Explains What Will Happen If Galatasaray Face Liverpool

Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has admitted that a potential clash against Liverpool FC in the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League will be a difficult encounter, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Osimhen was the hero as Galatasaray progressed to the Round of 16 after edging Italian giants Juventus FC in a dramatic playoff tie. 

The Nigerian forward scored the decisive goal to seal qualification and continue the Turkish champions’ impressive European campaign.

Speaking after the victory over Juventus, Osimhen acknowledged the challenge that could await his side if they are drawn against the Premier League outfit.

“I mean to be honest with you, meeting Liverpool now is going to be like some sort of revenge,” Osimhen said.

“Anyone we meet now… I wouldn’t say much, but I would like to escape Liverpool.

“But if they come, yeah, we are going to dig it out, but it’s not going to be easy.”

Galatasaray are now among the 16 teams left in Europe’s elite club competition as they await the outcome of the draw to determine their next opponents.
