UCL: Zaidu Sanusi Sustains Injury, Doubtful For Nigeria Versus Saudi Arabia Tie
Sampson Adedeji
Nigeria's Super Eagles defender Zaidu Sanusi remains a big doubt for the upcoming international friendly game against Saudi Arabia following his substitution in the UEFA Champions League game between his team FC Porto and Shakhtar Donetsk, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The lanky defender started the game played at the Hamburg Stadium in Germany and he was a key player in the game before his replacement.
Zaidu was able to complete the first half but he was spotted holding his thigh as he was going down the tunnel.
He didn't return for the second half as he was replaced by the Brazilian International Wendell.
The game against Saudi Arabia is slated for mid-October and Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro hopes Zaidu will recover in time to be available for the clash.
