UEFA Conference League: Super Eagles Striker Ends Goal Drought

After spending many weeks without scoring, Super Eagles forward, Gift Orban, has finally put an end to his goal drought in the UEFA Conference League game for KAA Gent, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Since coming to represent Nigeria in the final round of the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier, Orban suffered a loss of form following his inability to score for his Belgian club in games.
He missed the AFCON qualifier due to injury and he returned to the Belgian club with the same injury that kept him out of action for some weeks
The Belgian Jupiler League side hosts Breidablik in the match-day 3 of the UEFA Conference and secured a comprehensive 5-0 win.
Gent scored 3 goals in 19 minutes through Gandelman and a brace from Cuypers while Tissoudali scored the 4th goal in the 44th minute.
Orban was introduced into the game in the 54th minute before scoring the 5th goal in the 68th minute of the encounter.
His return to action will gladden the heart of the Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro who is drawing up his list for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
