Uchegbulam: Count Me Out of NFF Election If Court Order Not Vacated

Former 1st Vice President and a Presidential aspirant in the forthcoming Nigeria Football Federation election, Amanze Uchegbulam has hinted that he won't be in Benin City, the venue of Friday's elective congress until the court injunction is vacated, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

On Tuesday, Uchegbulam and 10 other presidential candidates cleared for the NFF election had a closed-door meeting with the Sports Minister, Sunday Dare.

The Imo State Football Association boss gave the hint via a statement he made public after the meeting in Abuja.

It reads: With Sporting regards to the Chairman and the members of the NFF Electoral Committee 2022, I hereby formally bring to your notice my intention, not to participate in the NFF Election scheduled for 30 September 2022.

"There is a well-publicized order from Honourable Justice I.E Ekwo of the Federal High Court Abuja on the 15th day of September 2022, stopping the election pending the hearing of the

substantive suit.

"However, as a law-abiding citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I shall make myself available and participate in the election, upon the order of Federal High Court Abuja made on 15th September 2022, is vacated, set aside or issues being resolved by the parties, to the knowledge of the Court and the public for the purpose and same, communicated to the Aspirants accordingly by the Electoral

Committee."
