Udinese Targets Selvik For Injured Okoye
Ibrahim Lateef
With Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye recuperating from his injury after going under doctor's knives and Udinese's goal currently being kept by Razvan Sava,
it's understandable that Udinese are in search of a new goalkeeper in the January transfer window, BSNSports.com.ng has sourced on Tuttomercato.
This move is characteristic of Udinese's approach, targeting an international profile that may be largely unfamiliar to most, especially given the region where he currently plays.
According to Transfer Market expert Fabrizio Romano, Udinese is in advanced negotiations for the free transfer of Norwegian goalkeeper Egil Selvik.
The 27-year-old has recently played for Haugesund in Norway, where he served as captain.
In recent weeks, Selvik has also received offers from clubs in Spain and Belgium, but Italy appears to be the most likely destination at this time.
Selvik would serve as Sava's deputy, as Okoye is expected to be out for a few more months due to the injury he sustained at the end of 2024.
