Uganda has officially submitted a bid to host the 2031 African Games, signaling its intention to stage one of the continent’s biggest multi-sport events, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The East African nation presented its proposal to the relevant authorities, with the inspection team visiting key facilities, including the newly constructed Hoima City Stadium, which is expected to serve as one of the major venues if the bid is successful.

The African Union Sports Council expressed satisfaction with Uganda’s submission after assessing the infrastructure and preparedness plans.

Officials commended the quality of facilities and the country’s commitment to meeting the required standards for hosting the Games.

The 2023 edition of the African Games was hosted by Ghana, setting a benchmark for future hosts in terms of organization and delivery.
