Unbeaten Nigeria Storm Into CAVB U-18 African Championship Final

Nigeria's boys' team has secured a place in the final of the 2026 CAVB U-18 African Nations Volleyball Championship after defeating Cameroon 3-0 in a commanding semi-final performance in Alexandria, Egypt, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Nigerian youngsters produced another clinical display to sweep aside their Central African opponents 25-16, 25-20, 25-19, extending their unbeaten run and reinforcing their credentials as title favourites.
The victory continues an impressive campaign for Nigeria, who have won all five of their matches at the tournament while conceding just one set en route to the championship match.
Nigeria began its campaign with a perfect Group A record, opening with a straight-sets victory over Morocco before overcoming hosts Egypt 3-1 in a closely contested encounter. The team completed the group stage with another 3-0 win against Burundi to finish top of the standings.
The momentum carried into the knockout stage, where Nigeria dispatched Libya 3-0 in the quarter-finals before producing another dominant straight-sets victory over Cameroon to reach the final.
Against Cameroon, Nigeria excelled in all facets of the game, combining powerful attacking play with disciplined defending, effective blocking and consistent serving to control the contest from start to finish.
Having recorded five consecutive victories—four of them without dropping a set—Nigeria now stands just one win away from lifting the continental title.
The team's outstanding performances throughout the tournament reflect the continued progress of youth volleyball in Nigeria and underline the effectiveness of the country's talent development programme.
Nigeria will now shift its focus to the final, where the young side will be aiming to complete an unbeaten campaign and be crowned champions of Africa.
