Uniben, U17 Cricket Clubs proved unbeatable as Edo Cricket league enter Weeks


As Week 2 of the Edo State cricket league ended, the University of Benin (Uniben) Cricket Club (CC) and U17 CC both appear to be too powerful for their opponents.

Last Saturday, in one of the shortest cricket matches ever played in Nigeria, Uniben defeated the Crusaders CC by 8 wickets.

Similarly, U17 CC completely destroyed Dolphins CC by amassing 138 runs for the loss of just three wickets.The Dolphins only managed 83 runs before they were all bowled out in 17.5 overs of the second innings. 

Dolphins, on the other hand, defeated No Limit CC fairly on Sunday by a score of 48 runs. After taking out five opponents' wickets, Courage Adjiwanou was named Player of the Match.

In the last Sunday's match, Uniben batted a terrible 247 runs in 20 overs and lost only 4 wickets. 

The target became a daunting task for Integrity Force CC to surmount in the 2nd innings. Integrity Force attempt only a paltry 79 runs in 18 overs. 168 runs was the difference Uniben use to disseminate Integrity Force. 

Destiny Eghosa was the Player of the Match. He batted 91 runs off 46 balls. The former Kent CricketClub player also dismissed 2 opponents' wickets. His teammate, Destiny Chilemanya batted 40 runs to keep Uniben on top of the league table ahead of U17 CC.
