Unity Cup: Nigeria Has A More Mature Team – Ghana Coach Otto Addo
Sampson Adedeji Following Ghana's narrow 2-1 defeat to Nigeria in the Unity Cup semi-final, Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has acknowledged the superiority of the Super Eagles, stating that Nigeria fielded a more mature and cohesive team, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Goals from Cyriel Dessers and an own goal by Simpson sealed the win for Nigeria, while Ghana struggled to find a rhythm throughout the match.
Speaking after the game, Addo pointed to the lack of chemistry among his players as a key challenge.
"It's not always easy, especially when we have players who haven't played together often," he said.
"Nigeria has a more mature team that adapted quicker. We struggled to press, engaging in duels, and maintaining defensive structure."
With the win, Nigeria advances to the Unity Cup final where they will face Jamaica.
Ghana, meanwhile, will compete in the third-place playoff.
