Unity Cup: Super Eagles Suffer Injury Setback

Nigeria’s preparations for the upcoming Unity Cup in London have suffered a setback following an injury concern involving one of the newly invited players, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Swedish top-flight side AIK Fotboll have reportedly declined to release Zadok Yohanna after his maiden invitation to the Nigeria national football team for the tournament.

According to reports, the club’s medical team insisted that the player is currently at a crucial stage of his rehabilitation from injury and should not be risked at this time.

The development is a blow to the Super Eagles coaching crew, who had hoped to assess the player during the competition in London as part of preparations for future international assignments.

Nigeria are expected to use the Unity Cup as part of their build-up ahead of subsequent competitive fixtures later in the year.
