Zimbabwe have officially confirmed their participation in the upcoming Unity Cup scheduled to take place in London this May, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The announcement was made by the Zimbabwe Football Association in a statement released on Wednesday afternoon, where the federation also revealed that their opening fixture will be against the Nigeria national football team.

The encounter is expected to rekindle competitive rivalry between the Zimbabwe national football team and Nigeria, with both sides aiming to make a strong start in the four-nation invitational tournament.

The Unity Cup will also feature India national football team and Jamaica national football team, completing the lineup for the competition.

Organisers are expected to release the full fixtures and match schedule in the coming days as preparations intensify for the tournament.
