Unity Cup 2025: Jamaica Edge Trinidad & Tobago in Thrilling Five-Goal Semi-Final

 Jamaica's Reggae Boyz sealed a dramatic 3-2 victory over Trinidad and Tobago in the opening semi-final of the Unity Cup 2025, thanks to a stoppage-time penalty at the Gtech Community Stadium on Tuesday night.

Despite surrendering a comfortable two-goal lead, the Jamaicans regrouped to snatch a last-minute win in a match that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

The scoring began in the 25th minute when Kasey Palmer confidently converted a penalty to put Jamaica ahead. Their momentum continued into the second half, with Rumarn Burrell doubling the advantage in the 53rd minute.

However, Trinidad and Tobago responded almost immediately, as Isaiah Leacock capitalized on a defensive lapse to pull one back just a minute later. The Soca Warriors completed the comeback in the 69th minute through veteran Kevin Molino, who slotted home the equalizer to make it 2-2.

Just when extra time seemed inevitable, Jamaica were awarded a second penalty in stoppage time. Defender Richard King stepped up and coolly converted in the 94th minute, sealing Jamaica’s place in the final.

The second semi-final of the tournament is scheduled for Wednesday, May 28, featuring a highly anticipated clash between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Ghana’s Black Stars.

The winner will advance to face Jamaica in what promises to be an electrifying Unity Cup 2025 final.
