Uproar As Nigeria Player Declared Unfit For AFCON 2023 Resumes Training At Club

Super Eagles forward, Sadiq Umar who was replaced with Paul Onuachu following a knee injury was seen in a video on social media resumed training with his Spanish club.

A debate broke out on social media following a recent video shared by the La Liga club side Real Sociedad showing the Nigerian forward Sadiq Umar back on the grass after being removed from the Super Eagles of Nigeria at AFCON 2023 due to a reported knee injury meant to keep him out of any football activity for the next three weeks.

Sadiq Umar was replaced by Paul Onauchu after it was reported that the Nigerian international had picked up a knock in the friendly match played ahead of AFCON 2023 by Nigeria against Guinea. According to the Super Eagles doctor, Sadiq won't be able to play until after three weeks but the Spanish club proved him wrong as he resumed training on Monday.

Nigerians and football fans have had mixed reactions as to how a player who was declared unfit for the next three games back on the grass for personal training.
