Former Super Eagles forward John Utaka has called on Nigeria's head coach, Eric Sekou Chelle, to offer more playing time to Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Dessers, who had an impressive season with Rangers by scoring 29 goals, also made a strong impact in the recent Unity Cup.

He found the net against the Black Stars of Ghana and provided an assist in the match against Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz, showcasing his attacking prowess.

Speaking with Brila FM, Utaka praised Dessers for his composed finish against Ghana.

“He’s a good finisher. I watched his goal against Ghana and was impressed by how composed he was,” Utaka said.

“He showed real quality — scoring that type of goal takes maturity. I believe it’s time he’s given more chances with the national team.”
