VAR: AFCON 2023 Have Set Standard For Europe, Premier League - Neville

Former England International Gary Neville has heaped praises on the usage of the Video Assistant Referee ( VAR) at the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Most of the decisions of the VAR in the biennial competition have been correct and there has been a less controversial situation in the matches.

Since the start of the ongoing Premier League season and European games, most of the VAR decisions have undergone scrutiny.

While speaking on Skysports, the former Manchester United defender praised the referee and VAR.

 "The standards of officiating set by this year's AFCON are honestly staggering. 

It's like they invented it. The Premier League and all of Europe have a lot of learning to do", he said.
