The much-awaited Video Assistant Referee officially made its debut in the Benin Premier League on Saturday evening in the game involving Cotton Sport and ASVO FC, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nigerian coach Fatai Osho, in charge of ASVO FC, was excited to be part of history in Benin.

Osho joined ASVO this summer and he has continued to make his mark in the league with consistent victory.

VAR was involved in the game, and it was ASVO who secured a 0-1 away win. Osho was happy to be part of the team that was used as a pilot for VAR Usage in the country.

" It's great to be part of history. The first-ever VAR match in the Benin Republic Coton Sport 0-1 Asvo FC", he said.
