Viareggio Cup: Magic Stars Tackle VIS Pesaro In Round Of 16

VIS Pesaro will take on Magic Stars in the Viareggio Cup Round of 16 billed for Tuesday at the Marco Polo Sports Center, with 2:30pm as kickoff time, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

The Italians secured a match-up with the Lagos-based Nationwide League One (NLO), who have been the better team in the 75th edition of the Viareggio Cup, winning all three group matches, scoring nine goals, conceding once and keeping two clean sheets.

VIS Pesaro booked their spot in the knockout stage as one of the best losers with 2 points after losing against Torino and drawing against Ojodu City and Asteras Aktor.

They will go into it as underdogs, while Magic Stars also advanced in the tournament as favourites to lift the trophy and become the second Nigerian team to do so after defending champions Beyond Limits of Ikenne.

Top scorer Sesan Emmanuel, with four goals, and his strike partner Kalu Chisom, with three goals, will hope to propel Magic Stars to another win on Tuesday.
