Viral Infection Stops Umar Sadiq From Valencia Training

A viral infection has ruled Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq out of training with the rest of his Valencia teammates before they host Mallorca at the Mestalla on Sunday in the LaLiga, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

Sadiq, who returned to Spain on Wednesday from 2026 World Cup qualifying duties with Nigeria for the past ten days, didn't train on Friday, as Valencia returned to training at the Paterna Sports City after enjoying a rest day on Thursday.

According to the Spanish sports news outlet AS, Sadiq was the star of the day due to a viral infection that prevented him from training with the rest of his teammates.

The forward, who didn't play a single minute in the two matches played by Nigeria, only trained alongside Diakhaby on Thursday.

In principle, there won't be any problem with Sadiq being included in the squad for the Mallorca match; he could even start.

Corberán is reassured because Hugo Duro has fully recovered from the calf injury he suffered a month ago and will return to the squad after missing three matches.
