Viral Penalty: Remo Stars Face NFF Investigation For Alleged Match Fixing

Nigeria Football Federation( NFF) has decided to step in into the penalty shootout incident involving Remo Stars and Ijebu United, BSNsports.com.ng understands.

Both side locked horns in the final of the Ogun State FA Cup and Ijebu United won the cup 3-0 via penalty shootouts and one of the penalties was kicked suspiciously to the throw in.

The video of the penalty went viral which made football stakeholders across the world doubt the credibility of the game.

Secretary General of the federation Mohammed Sanusi who described the situation as embarrassing has told ESPN the action of the federation.

"There will be an investigation, it is very embarrassing. 

"I have already directed the head of the NFF Integrity Unit to handle the investigation," he told ESPN.

Pending the outcome of the investigation both Remo Stars and Ijebu United will represent the State in the National Federation Cup.
