Visa Hurdles Ground Plans to Fly 200 Fans to Morocco for Super Eagles Playoffs

Plans to airlift about 200 Nigerian football fans to Morocco to support the Super Eagles at the 2026 FIFA World Cup Playoffs have been cancelled due to visa challenges, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

A team official confirmed the development, explaining that organizers were unable to secure entry visas for the supporters.

 “The plan is off because of problems in securing the fans’ visas into Morocco,” the official said.

In light of the setback, the Nigerian Embassy in Rabat is expected to mobilize Nigerian students and residents in Morocco to rally behind the Super Eagles during the crucial matches.

Nigeria will begin their Playoff campaign on Thursday with a semi-final clash against Gabon at the Complexe Sportif Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan in Rabat. The match is scheduled to kick off at 5:00 p.m. (same time as in Nigeria).

The winner of the encounter will face either Cameroon or the Democratic Republic of Congo in the final on Sunday, where the eventual champion will earn Africa’s sole ticket to the FIFA Intercontinental Playoffs in Mexico, March 2026.
