Volleyball: CNS Spikers begin promotion chase

Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Spikers women team has maintained a 100% unbeaten record at the second phase of the National Division 1 Volleyball League in Kaduna state.

CNS Spikers defeated LifeCamp VC 3-1 (25-21, 18-25, 25-12, 25-19) in the women's match at the indoor sports hall of Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna on Saturday.

CNS boosted the technical crew with the coach of the National U21 Men's Team, Sani Mohammed who in turn transferred his tactical knowledge into the young CNS side. 

In the other women's match, rejuvenated Olalomi Super Angels surprisingly defeated Bayonet Spikers of Jaji 3-1 (19-25, 25-11, 25-18, 25-17) in an exciting match. The starting team of Olalomi side were filled with young players who are making their debut in the national league.

Meanwhile, Caliphate Spikers of Sokoto beat ABM of Katsina 3-1 (25-20, 23-25, 26-24, 25-18) in the men's match 1 of the ongoing 2022 National Division 1 Volleyball League. 

Former premier league title contenders, Nigeria immigration service (NIS) bulldozed JVC of Bauchi 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-18) while division 1 league leaders, Spartan Spikers of Yola laboured hard to beat UCEM of Enugu 3-2 (25-16, 25-22, 20-25, 24-26, 15-12) in a match that last for 2 hours.

In the division 2 matches; Sword VC defeated Adamawa State 3-1 (19-25, 32-30, 25-17, 25-16) while G-Ranks of Kachia beat Bayonet Spikers of Jaji 3-0 (25-21,26-24, 25-23) on Saturday.
