WÀFCON 2026: Madugu Confirms 2-Year Contract
Sampson Adedeji
Super Falcons head coach, Justin Madugu, has confirmed that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has handed him a two-year contract to continue leading the senior women’s national team, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Madugu, who guided the Super Falcons to their 10th WAFCON title in Morocco earlier in July, further cemented his reputation on Tuesday after steering Nigeria to qualification for the 2026 edition of the tournament.
Speaking during the post-match press conference, the tactician revealed details of his new deal.
"The NFF gave me a two-year contract starting on the 1st of October 2025 and ending on the 1st of October 2027,” Madugu stated.
The contract extension is seen as a reward for the coach’s impressive work with the team, especially his ability to blend experienced players with emerging talents.
Under Madugu’s guidance, the Super Falcons have shown renewed tactical discipline and consistency, positioning them among the favourites to defend their title when the 2026 WAFCON kicks off in Morocco.
