Ahead of Monday's semi-final between WAFCON 2022 host Morocco and Nigeria at Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, Atlas Lionesses defender Nesryn El Chad has outlined what they must do to stop the Super Falcons, BSNsports.com.ng report

The Lionesses who are playing in the semi-final of the competition for the first time have the Super Falcons hurdle to cross to earn a place in the final.

The defender said they must be rigorous and rock solid at the back to stop the rampaging nine times champions.

"The atmosphere has not changed at all since the beginning of the tournament, it is always the same. We are a family and we are very happy to be together.

"And what could be better than playing a WAFCON with your family? Yes, there was a lot of euphoria after qualifying for the World Cup, but the most important thing now is the semi-final. We always work with a lot of seriousness and in good mood.

El Chad knows it will be crucial to be defensively solid against a potent Nigeria who have scored eight goals.

“We will have to be rigorous and solid defensively if we want to qualify for the final, no matter who the opponent is in front of us.

"We must remain strong and organized at the back. So we are ready on all levels, physically, technically and tactically,” says El Chad.

The two teams have only met twice before (in the 1998 and 2000 WAFCON group stage) with the Super Falcons thrashing them 8-0 and 6-0 respectively.
