WAFCON 2022 Fallout:
Zambia FA To Send Super Falcons Slayer On Coaching Course of Europe
Our Reporter
After guiding Shepolopolo to an emphatic win against Super Falcons to claim Zambia's first major silverware, bronze in the Women African Cup of Nations(WAFCON), coach Bruce Mwape is set to go on a sponsored trip to Europe for a coaching course, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Recall, Katongo scored a beauty of a goal that saw the Copper Queens triumph over 9 times champions Nigeria in a 3rd/4th playoff in Casablanca, Morocco.
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Andrew Kamanga was full of praise for coach Mwape told ZambianFootballNews.
"Mwape performed beyond expectation in the WAFCON in Morocco and the only best way to reward him is to send him to Europe for further training so that he guides the Copper Queens to a good performance in the FIFA women's World Cup that will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand in 2023."
The Grace Chanda-captained side only lost once to Banyana Banyana in the semi-finals to a controversial VAR penalty.
The World Cup-bound team drew against Cameroon before recording wins over Tunisia, Togo and Senegal.
