Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has admitted that Nigeria’s hard-fought 2-1 victory over South Africa in the semi-final of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations was far from easy, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Ajibade, who scored from the spot in the tense encounter, praised the Banyana Banyana for putting up a strong fight, describing them as a formidable opponent.
“We knew it was going to be a difficult game because every match in this tournament has been tough,” Ajibade said.
“We know South Africa quite well; they are a very good side.
“We have faced each other in different competitions Olympic qualifiers, WAFCON but we were prepared for whatever came our way, physically and tactically.
“When we face challenges, that’s when you see the best of the Super Falcons. It was difficult, but we managed to get the win.”
